T7 simulation focus day today

Mixed Mode Matching Engine & Gateway Failover, Failure, EOBI Failure

The following focus day scenario will be provided in T7 simulation today:

  • Mixed Mode Matching Engine & Gateway Failover, Failure, EOBI Failure for markets XEUR (partition2 & 3) and XETR (partition 31) - effective 22 March 2021 15:00-16:00 CET

With Eurex Circular 005/2021 and Xetra Circular 004/2021 the consolidation of matcher and PS-Gateway process was announced. This will enable the exchange to further reduce latency within the T7 trading platform and provide Trading Participants with more predictable latencies in burst scenarios and during overall increased system load in the future.

During the so called “Mixed Mode” rollout phase (see above circulars under point 3.B.), the standby PS-Gateway process will only be started in the event of an actual failover scenario and will therefore not be technically reachable for customers via any network protocol prior to such an event. Once the standby PS-Gateway and Matching Engine become available, a session login and trading will immediately be possible again without any grace period.

This focus day scenario offers all participants the opportunity to simulate the consolidated partition-specific gateway and matching engine process failover in mixed mode.

Participants are requested to test the system behaviour on their side.

More details on the focus days are available in the Simulation Guide, available on the website.
