On April 2, 2009, BASF AG announced that all execution conditions of the takeover offer to the Ciba shareholders have been fulfilled. Execution of the offer will take place on April 9, 2009.
Consequently, existing positions in options contracts on shares of Ciba AG (CIBN) will be settled at theoretical fair value, as announced in Eurex circulars 221/08, 259/08 and 272/08. Basis for the determination of the fair value is the final offer price of CHF 50.00.
The attachment contains a list of all theoretical fair values (final settlement prices) for the respective series of the Eurex options on shares of Ciba AG (CIBN).
On April 8, 2009, all participants with open interest will receive a fax containing an overview of all open interest. The amounts will be debited/credited on April 8 with value date April 9, 2009. The positions will be transferred during batch processing on April 9, effective April 14, 2009.
There is no open interest for the Eurex stock futures contract on Ciba AG (CIBF).
