Trader admission

Any person that shall be authorized to trade at Eurex Deutschland on behalf of a member needs to be admitted by Eurex Deutschland as exchange trader first.

The number of traders of an Eurex Deutschland exchange participant is not limited, but all exchange participants must have at least one admitted trader in order to comply with Eurex Deutschland admission requirements.

In order to fulfill the admission requirements of Eurex Deutschland, at least one trader per company must, however, be admitted. Furthermore, admission as an exchange trader is only possible for one company admitted. If an exchange trader changes over to another company, the trader admission linked to the first company must be returned by written notification and a new exchange trader admission must be applied for by the new company.

Persons who are to be entitled to trade at Eurex Deutschland for an admitted company in accordance with passage 3 number 3.2 of Eurex Deutschland Exchange Rules, must be reliable and have the necessary skills.

All relevant steps for the admission of individual persons can be arranged via Internet from any location around the world irrespectively of time zones. You are able to follow the current processing status of your admission requests online at any time via the Electronic eXchange Admission Service (eXAS) in the Eurex Member Section. Please note that at least one admission administrator has to be set up for your company since admission of exchange traders will only be possible via eXAS.

Traders will be admitted by Eurex Deutschland upon application, provided that they are reliable and have the necessary professional qualification for options and futures exchange trading.

For the purpose of proof of admission requirements according to the Admission Regulation for Exchange Traders at Eurex Deutschland, admission, registration and de-registration of Exchange Traders and Qualified Back Office Staff will only be possible electronically via eXAS in the Eurex Member Section (Service Point > Personnel Admission):

The following documents have to be enclosed with the application as evidence of personal reliability:

  • Complete, signed curriculum vitae containing all first names, the maiden name, date of birth, place of birth and nationality
  • Declaration personal reliability pursuant to section 2 of the Admission Regulation for Exchange Traders at Eurex Deutschland

For proof of professional qualification (functional knowledge and practical experience), the following documents have to be enclosed with the application:

  • Expertise:
Copy of the exam certificate according to section 3 paragraph 3 of the Admission Regulation of a successfully passed Trader Examination at Eurex within the two years prior to the time of application

    or

    or

Proof of participation in trading at an exchange or multilateral trading system during a period of at least six months within the two years prior the time of application.

If you do not have the functional knowledge as well as the practical experience the above mentioned, please apply for the Eurex Trader Examination and the Eurex System Training for Trading.

The registration for the Eurex Trader Examination and the Eurex System Training for Trading is only possible if the admission as Exchange Trader at Eurex Deutschland has been applied for at the same time.

In case an Eurex exchange trader changes to another admitted company, such a trader has two possibilities to confirm his functional knowledge: either he has successfully passed the Eurex Trader Examination or he was admitted as a trader for his previous company for at least 12 months during the last 2 years. Furthermore, a formless confirmation of the applicant's practical experience in trading for at least 6 months in the last 2 years is required.

The successful passing of the Eurex trader Examination will certify the expertise necessary for the admission as an exchange trader at Eurex Deutschland. In addition, proof of practical experience is required for admission.

A proof of the required practical experience is the Eurex online system training (costs: 310 Euro plus VAT). For further details on proof of professional qualification for admission as a Eurex trader, please refer to section 3 of the admission regulations for exchange traders.
