Equity Index Options: Trade Size Rebate Scheme for OTC Block Trade Entries

The Executive Board of Eurex Clearing AG has decided to introduce a rebate model for OTC block trade entries in equity index options based on the size of the trades entered.

The new trade size rebate scheme will replace the current wholesale pricing model for equity index options and will come into effect on April 1, 2009.

With the new rebate model, the fees for volumes above 2,000 contracts of a block trade on A or P position accounts will be reduced by 50 percent. Accordingly, volumes above 2,000 contracts of block trades on M position accounts will also receive a rebate of up to 50 percent. The total maximum rebate granted in the combination of Market Making rebate and the new trade size rebate will be limited to the level of the current Advanced Market Maker fees.

Revision of the fee cap model currently in place has become necessary in view of the strong increase in the number of extremely large equity index option block trades during the last two years.

Please refer to the attached updated sections of the Price List for Eurex Clearing AG for details.
