Eurex Exchange Eurex Exchange Readiness Newsflash | Go-live of the mandatory PIN procedure for Trading on Behalf (ToB) and other inquiries on 3 August 2020

Eurex Exchange Readiness Newsflash

Dear Eurex Participant,

With this Newsflash we would like to remind you that the mandatory PIN authentication procedure for ToB and further inquiries will go live on 3 August 2020.

For the full scope of all functional and procedural changes please refer to Eurex Circular 025/20.

1. Outline

With the launch of T7 Release 8.1 on 29 June 2020, the Eurex user attribute PINCode became mandatory. Hence, as of this date, all new Eurex users as well as all existing users, where user attributes are changed by the respective user administrator, require a dedicated PIN.

Eurex Market Supervision will enforce the mandatory PIN identification process and reject inquiries, if the authentication information is not provided starting 3 August 2020. As of this date, all users must have a dedicated PIN and provide it to Eurex Market Supervision in the following cases:

  • On-exchange on-behalf entries (order add / modify / delete / mass deletion)
  • TES on-behalf entries (trade add / approve / modify / delete)
  • Stop / Release User / Business Unit inquiries

Eurex specifically emphasises that user administrators must set up PINs for all Eurex users and communicate them to the individual traders in case traders do not have direct Eurex Trader GUI access (otherwise the PIN is visible in the Trader GUI). Please note: Once a PINCode is set today, the Member ID/user ID/PIN combination becomes instantly mandatory for ToB.

2. PIN set-up

In case a Eurex user has not set up a dedicated PINCode until the mandatory PIN Procedure enforcement takes place, Eurex will automatically assign a randomised PINCode to the Eurex users with missing PINCode.

IMPORTANT: In order not to interfere with regular trading and post-trading or simultaneous member user maintenance, this automatic upload process will take place in the evening of Sunday, 2 August 2020 instead of the originally communicated date Friday, 31 July 2020.

PINs that were set before will not be overwritten by this automatic process.

If an Exchange Participant is only relying on Eurex's randomised PIN assignment, then they must ensure that all traders can directly access the PIN on 3 August 2020.
