Eurex Exchange Readiness Newsflash | T7: Introduction of additional currencies

Dear Eurex Participant,

With this Newsflash, Eurex would like to make you aware of the introduction of new currencies on the following dates:

Simulation start: 14 July 2022
Production start: 29 August 2022

Eurex Participants should note that the “FPHCPARM” currency file will be extended to include the following additional currencies:

  • Hongkong Dollar (HKD)
  • Brazilian Real (BRL)
  • Mexican Peso (MXN)
  • South African Rand (ZAR)

This file contains currency haircut parameters and adjusted exchange rates used for margining and collateral evaluation. The file is available via the Common Report Engine (CRE) on the Eurex website www.eurex.com.

Please be aware that on the start date the provided file will not contain previous day data information for the newly added currencies (i.e. following information will be empty):

  • 10 PRV-ADJ-EXCH-RAT-CRED-RMHCPA PIC Z(3)9.9(8)
  • 10 PRV-ADJ-EXCH-RAT-DEB-RMHCPA PIC Z(3)9.9(8)
  • 10 PRV-HAIRCUT-PCNT-RMHCPA PIC Z(1)9.9(2)

Introducing the additional currencies is a prerequisite for the launch of further product offerings such as the introduction of additional cash settled FX Futures.

Market Status

XEUR

The market status window is an indication regarding the current technical availability of the trading system. It indicates whether news board messages regarding current technical issues of the trading system have been published or will be published shortly.

Please find further information about incident handling in the Emergency Playbook published on the Eurex webpage under Support --> Emergencies and safeguards. Detailed information about incident communication, market re-opening procedures and best practices for order and trade reconciliation can be found in the chapters 4.2, 4.3 and 4.5, respectively. Concrete information for the respective incident will be published during the incident via newsboard message. 

We strongly recommend not to take any decisions based on the indications in the market status window but to always check the production news board for comprehensive information on an incident.
