T7: 10Gbit/s Connections: Cartridges and loop plug on 6th connection port

Eurex Circular 081/22 T7: 10Gbit/s Connections: Cartridges and loop plug on 6th connection port

1.  Introduction

Eurex would like to remind all Trading Participants and Service Providers with 10Gbit/s connections that the hand-over cartridges/patch panel in the respective rack in co-location rooms is part of the infrastructure owned by EFAG. The 6th port on each of the cartridges is reserved for internal purposes and the loop plug attached to this port has to stay connected.

In the coming weeks, Equinix technicians will verify that the loop plug is connected to the 6th port for each cartridge and plug in a new loop plug in case it is missing.

2.  Required action

There is no specific action required.

3.  Details

Eurex plans to enhance the internal monitoring of 10Gbit/s connections. For this, it is necessary to have all 10Gbit/s connections setup with respective loop plugs.

In the coming weeks, Equinix technicians will verify that the loop plug is connected to the 6th port for each cartridge and plug in a new loop plug in case it is missing. For this purpose, the Equinix technicians must enter all Trading Participants’ and Service Providers’ colocation rooms to perform this task.

To ensure that the loop plug will not take up too much space, the Equinix technicians will remove the safety cap on existing loop plugs or install new smaller loop plugs.
