Trader Development Program for Central and Eastern Europe

The registration period for the Trader Development Program for Central and Eastern European countries introduced in January 2008 will be extended until December 31, 2009. In addition, the duration of the program has been extended to two years for existing and new participants. It will end on December 31, 2011. The program supports Eurex participants who wish to expand their trading activities in Eurex products to emerging markets in Central and Eastern Europe, i.e. Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. With their significant potential, these selected markets offer access to strong local demand for trading Eurex benchmark products. By means of this program Eurex will support training and further professional development of traders in these countries and, in addition, further enhance demand for Eurex products from this region. The program will start retrospectively on January 1, 2009. Applications will be accepted until December 31, 2009. Under the program, proprietary trades executed by new users of order-routing systems from abovementioned Central and Eastern European countries will be exempted from transaction fees pursuant to sections 3.1.1.1 and 3.1.1.3 of the Price List for up to 500,000 traded contracts per location for a period of one year. Once the threshold of 500,000 transactions per location has been reached in year one, and under
the condition that Members continue to trade a minimum of one contract per trading day for the remainder of year one, Members are exempt from transaction fees for up to 1,500,000 traded contracts per location for year two. Eurex Members can apply to participate in the program for up to five locations.
