- Please note: This circular is only available in English. Dieses Rundschreiben steht nur in Englisch zur Verfügung -

As announced in Eurex circular 004/19, Eurex Deutschland will provide a seamless and automatic update mechanism called T7 GUI Launcher replacing the deprecated Java Web Start technology.

The existing mechanism of starting T7 GUIs via Landing Page and Java Web Start will be withdrawn with the introduction of T7 Release 8.0 (simulation start: 9 September 2019, production start: 18 November 2019).

Requirement for a new T7 GUI launch mechanism for seamless and automatic updating of the T7 GUIs

In response to Oracle’s Java SE Support Roadmap, Eurex Deutschland now provides the T7 GUI Launcher - a seamless update mechanism for the T7 GUIs.

In addition, Deutsche Börse offers a bundled Java runtime environment, which will receive future updates including security fixes, without the need for T7 GUI users to acquire an additional commercial license for Java runtime environments.

Old and new GUI start mechanisms will be offered in parallel for T7 Release 7.1

Participants are highly recommended to switch to the new T7 GUI Launcher during the coming months, as the existing mechanism of starting T7 GUIs via Landing Page and Java Web Start will be withdrawn with the introduction of T7 Release 8.0 (simulation start: 9 September 2019, production start: 18 November 2019).

Until these dates, Participants who continue to have their own installation of Oracle Java SE 8 JRE will still be able to start the T7 GUIs via Java Web Start and the T7 GUI Landing Pages T7 7.1.
