1. Introduction
We would like to inform you in this circular about the obligation of all Admitted Companies to ensure availability by telephone during all trading periods. This obligation arises from § 29 Paragraph 5 and Paragraph 6 of the Exchange Rules of Eurex Deutschland (“Exchange Rules”).
2. Required action
Trading Participants should verify internally whether availability by telephone according to § 29 Paragraph 5 and Paragraph 6 Exchange Rules is guaranteed during all trading periods. Please contact your Key Account Manager or send an e-mail to client.services@eurex.com for further support.
3. Details
A. General obligation to ensure availability by telephone
Pursuant to § 29 Paragraph 5 Sentence 1, each Admitted Company is obligated to ensure availability by telephone at all times during all trading periods pursuant to § 60 Exchange Rules.
Pursuant to § 60 Paragraph 2 Exchange Rules, exchange trading shall be realised in consecutive periods as defined in the Conditions for Trading at Eurex Deutschland. The commencement and the end of such periods shall be determined by the Management Board for each derivative admitted.
The respective periods stated in to § 60 Paragraph 2 Exchange Rules are specified in Part 1.4 of the Conditions for Trading at Eurex Deutschland.
The respective trading hours of each product are determined in Annex C of the Contract Specifications for Futures Contracts and Options Contracts at Eurex Deutschland.
B. Availability by telephone during the Extended Trading Period
Pursuant to § 29 Paragraph 6 Sentence 1 Exchange Rules, Trading Participants trading derivatives that may be traded between 01:00 a.m. and 07:50 a.m. CET (“Extended Trading Period”) which do not actively participate in exchange trading during this night phase are not obligated to ensure availability by telephone during the Extended Trading Period.
Trading Participants which have orders that have not been executed in the Eurex Trading System during the Extended Trading Period, enter new orders, modify existing orders or participate in exchange trading in any other way, must also ensure availability by telephone during the Extended Trading Period (§ 29 Paragraph 6 Sentence 2 Exchange Rules).
