2.  Required action/requirements for participation

Importance of participation

Eurex Exchange strongly recommends that all Eurex Trading Participants regularly participate in the T7 Disaster Recovery Tests. These tests are an essential component of operational preparedness for a potential system outage.

Please ensure that your Chief Operations Officer and Chief Compliance Officer are informed about the test and that participation is given the appropriate priority.

Objective of the test

Participation enables Trading Participants to verify that all requirements and prerequisites for a transition to the disaster recovery environment are fulfilled. It also allows them to ensure that the required contingency processes have been established, coordinated and successfully tested on a regular basis.

Validating these processes supports compliance with the applicable business continuity requirements and helps safeguard market integrity on an ongoing basis.

Feedback on test preparation

All Trading Participants are requested to provide Eurex Exchange with feedback on their preparation for the T7 Disaster Recovery Test by Friday, 9 October 2026, at the latest.

Online submission

Please use the respective T7 Disaster Recovery Test Feedback Form to submit your feedback:

The company PIN is available to the Central Coordinator and the Central Coordinator’s deputy in the Deutsche Börse Group Member Section under “My Profile > PIN”.

3. Details of the test scenario

Test scenario and infrastructure

The T7 Disaster Recovery Test scenario simulates a partial outage of the Equinix FR2 data center. The infrastructure normally used for the T7 simulation environment will serve as the disaster recovery infrastructure for the production environment. Co-location will remain available, allowing Trading Participants with the relevant access to participate in the test.

Use of production data

During the T7 Disaster Recovery Test, reference data from the production environment will be used. This includes user IDs, T7 GUI SSH certificates, and ETI and FIX LF sessions.

Changes made to this reference data will not be transferred back to the production environment after the test. It is therefore recommended not to make any changes to this data during the test window.

Orders may be entered, modified and deleted during the test. However, the resulting order book and trade information will not be transferred to the production environment.

Available interfaces and reference data

The following Cash Market T7 interfaces and reference data will be available during the T7 Disaster Recovery Test:

  • T7 Trader GUI and T7 Admin GUI
  • Enhanced Transaction Interface (ETI)
  • FIX LF Interface
  • Market Data Interface (MDI)
  • Enhanced Order Book Interface (EOBI)
  • Enhanced Drop Copy Interface (EDCI)
  • Reference Data Interface (RDI)
  • Reference Data File (RDF)
  • Common Report Engine (CRE)

Trading Participants taking part in the T7 Disaster Recovery Test can receive market data via MDI and EOBI and retrieve reference data via RDI or RDF. Orders can be entered via ETI, FIX LF and the T7 Trader GUI.

Success criteria

The T7 Disaster Recovery Test is considered successful if at least one of the following criteria is met:

  • The message “Connection Test Eurex <hh:mm:ss>” is displayed with an increasing sequence number in the Market News view, or Newsboard, of the T7 Trader GUI or T7 Admin GUI.
  • A session or trader logon via ETI has been completed successfully and EOBI or RDI heartbeats have been received.
  • A session or trader logon via FIX LF has been completed successfully and EOBI or RDI heartbeats have been received.

Unavailable services

The following Eurex T7 interface will not be available during the test:

  • Extended Market Data Service

Parallel test opportunities

Deutsche Börse Cash Markets will offer comparable test opportunities on the same day. This allows Eurex and Cash Market Trading Participants to test their disaster recovery scenarios in parallel.

Further information about the T7 Disaster Recovery Test scenario and the required network adjustments is available in the document “T7 Disaster Recovery Concept – Interface Configuration Details”.

The updated version will be made available on the Eurex website under: T7 Release 14.1 > Network Access.

Return to the production environment

After the T7 Disaster Recovery Test has been completed, the regular production environment will be made available again for a limited period. During this window, Trading Participants can adjust their configurations and, if required, test connectivity to the production environment.

Responsibilities of Trading Participants

Please ensure, through appropriate adjustments to your internal infrastructure and processes, that internal test data generated during the test, such as orders or trades, is not forwarded to downstream production systems.
