Eurex
1. Introduction
Eurex will further improve cable-length normalization for Colo 2.0 10 Gbit/s and 1 Gbit/s participant connections in the Equinix FR2 co-location facility. This initiative is intended to further reduce differences in the physical length of participant connections and to provide even more consistent technical conditions across the Colo 2.0 infrastructure.
Based on current planning, the cable-length adjustment for Eurex Order Entry and Market Data connections is scheduled for Q1 and Q2 2027. The activities will be performed during announced maintenance windows.
Affected connections will be temporarily interrupted during the respective maintenance activity. Detailed dates, affected services, and participant testing windows will be communicated in advance via Implementation News.
2. Required action
No changes to participant trading applications or network configurations are required.
Participants whose connections are included in a maintenance activity will be asked to verify connectivity during the testing window specified in the respective Implementation News.
The planned checks may include verifying connectivity to the Connection Gateways and the receipt of technical heartbeat messages. Dedicated technical support will be available during the announced testing windows.
3. Details of the initiative
Eurex is currently performing infrastructure preparation and measurement activities across the Colo 2.0 environment. These activities are a prerequisite for the planned cable-length adjustment of participant connections. The resulting measurements will be used to determine the required adjustments for individual connections.
