September 2026 figures at Eurex

  • Listed derivatives posted a 45 percent increase in overall volumes in September 2026.
  • OTC Clearing delivered a strong result, with overnight index swaps climbing 76 percent.
  • Eurex Repo kept up its solid momentum, rising 33 percent in September on the back of a 59 percent increase in GC Pooling.

Eurex, Europe’s leading derivatives exchange and, together with Eurex Clearing, one of the world’s leading central counterparties, recorded a 45 percent increase in derivatives trading volume in September 2026, reaching 273 million traded contracts. Equity derivatives grew solidly, with volume up by 39 percent to 32.8 million traded contracts in September 2026. Growth was driven primarily by Interest rate derivatives, which surged 61 percent year-on-year to 168.2 million contracts. Equity derivatives also posted strong gains, up 39 percent to 32.8 million contracts, while Index derivatives climbed 19 percent to 72.0 million contracts.

OTC Clearing recorded strong growth in September 2026, with notional outstanding volumes up 29 percent year on year to EUR 60,146 billion. The swaps product group was the main growth driver, led by OIS, which surged 76 percent versus the prior year to EUR 10,700 billion. Interest rate swaps contributed by climbing 26 percent to EUR 25,001 billion. Cleared volumes continued their positive trajectory, rising 48% percent year-on-year to EUR 522 billion ADV. Growth was again driven primarily by the swaps segment: Overnight Index Swaps rose 87 percent to EUR 104 billion ADV in September 2026, while Interest Rate Swaps delivered strong performance as well, increasing by 76 percent to EUR 88 billion ADV.

Eurex Repo, Eurex’s leading electronic marketplace for secured funding and financing, kept up its strong momentum in September. Average term-adjusted volumes increased 33 percent to EUR 615.4 billion. The growth was led by the GC Pooling segment, which surged by 59 percent to EUR 347.7 billion.
