Credit Suisse Group AG: Relevant dividend with regard to futures contracts on Credit Suisse Group AG shares: Correction of formula for determination of countervalue of the stock dividend

On 22 April 2013, the method for determination of the relevant dividend for futures contracts on shares of Credit Suisse Group AG was published in Eurex circular 076/13. The dividend is composed of the cash dividend of 0.10 CHF plus the countervalue of the stock dividend. On 29 April 2013, the countervalue of the stock dividend was determined based on the closing price. It was 0.6419.

Unfortunately, the formula for determination of the countervalue of the stock dividend contained a small error. The correct formula is as follows:

Subscription right value=

(Closing auction price./. cash dividend) / (number of shares old + number of newly issued shares)

and not:

Closing auction price / (number of shares old + number of newly issued shares)

This results in a slight difference. Upon application of the correct formula, the countervalue of the stock dividend is 0.6395. Accordingly, the relevant dividend for maturity date December 2013 of the values C2SG and C3SG will be 0.7395 and not 0.7419. Consequently, settlement of the December 2013 contracts will be done based on the final settlement price of 0.7395.
