Eurex Exchange Readiness Newsflash | Mandatory Interface Encryption: Last milestones

Dear Eurex Participant,

With this Newsflash, we would like to remind you about the final upcoming mandatory implementation dates for ETI encryption regarding the usage of interface encryption. 

Please note that the next encryption milestone is the mandatory usage of payload or password encryption for ETI LF sessions and the usage of password encryption for ETI HF sessions, initiated from within the Equinix FR2 co-location facility, will become mandatory on 24 November 2023 for simulation.

The usage of payload or password encryption for ETI LF sessions and the usage of password encryption for ETI HF sessions, which are initiated from within the Equinix FR2 co-location facility, will become mandatory in production on 11 December 2023. 

Deutsche Börse has provided a sample implementation of the ETI password encryption on the client side. The script can be downloaded from the Eurex website under the following link:

We urge participants to take all necessary steps and adapt existing applications immediately.

Market Status

The market status window is an indication regarding the current technical availability of the trading system. It indicates whether news board messages regarding current technical issues of the trading system have been published or will be published shortly.

Please find further information about incident handling in the Emergency Playbook published on the Eurex webpage under Support --> Emergencies and safeguards. Detailed information about incident communication, market re-opening procedures and best practices for order and trade reconciliation can be found in the chapters 4.2, 4.3 and 4.5, respectively. Concrete information for the respective incident will be published during the incident via newsboard message. 

We strongly recommend not to take any decisions based on the indications in the market status window but to always check the production news board for comprehensive information on an incident.
