Eurex Readiness Newsflash | MiFID II/MiFIR order flagging requirements: Short Code solution – End of the historical correction phase

With this Newsflash, we would like to draw your attention to the upcoming end of the historical correction phase for missing or incorrect Short Code registrations.

As announced with Eurex Circular 026/25 from 1 April 2025, the historical correction phase started on 1 April 2025 and will end on 31 March 2026.

This is the final reminder to kindly provide your corrections no later than 31 March 2026, 23:30 CET. The final results will be provided in the TR170 Short Code ID - Historical Correction Report and the TR171 Short Code ID - Historical Long Code Correction Report for trading date 31 March 2026 and will be made available on 1 April 2026. The report generation and the Common Upload Engine (CUE) service “EXTREFDH” will be decommissioned thereafter.

We would like to thank all Trading Participants for their submitted corrections and for their cooperation in this matter.

Ongoing obligation for Trading Participants to submit corrections

Please be reminded that Trading Participants have the ongoing obligation to submit corrections for incurred final missing Short Codes since 18 November 2024, which are provided in the daily TR169 Short Code ID - Correction Report.

Availability of reports, required upload file format and CUE service for submission of corrections

The TR169 reports are accessible via the Common Report Engine (CRE) and the Short Code and Algo ID upload GUI. Corrections must be submitted using the regular upload file format and the CUE service “EXTREFDA” for MiFIR Trading Participants and the CUE service “EXTREFNM” for Trading Participants not subject to MiFIR.

Market Status

The market status window is an indication regarding the current technical availability of the trading system. It indicates whether news board messages regarding current technical issues of the trading system have been published or will be published shortly.

Please find further information about incident handling in the Emergency Playbook published on the Eurex webpage under Support --> Emergencies and safeguards. Detailed information about incident communication, market re-opening procedures and best practices for order and trade reconciliation can be found in the chapters 4.2, 4.3 and 4.5, respectively. Concrete information for the respective incident will be published during the incident via newsboard message. 

We strongly recommend not to take any decisions based on the indications in the market status window but to always check the production news board for comprehensive information on an incident.
