T7: Consolidation of the Market Data Distributor and Matching Engine processes on the Matching Engine Host

Eurex Circular 077/23 T7: Consolidation of the Market Data Distributor and Matching Engine processes on the Matching Engine Host

1.  Introduction

Following the introduction of T7 Release 12.0 on 20 November 2023, Eurex Exchange will begin the consolidation of the Market Data Distributor and Matching Engine processes for the individual partitions in the T7 production environment. The consolidation of the processes on the matching engine host will not only reduce complexity by reducing the possible number of failover scenarios but also facilitate a more deterministic distribution of data via the Enhanced Market Data Interface (EMDI). The rollout of the process consolidation across all Eurex partitions is planned in a stepwise approach.

As a preparation for the process consolidation, which will commence in Q1/2024, Eurex Exchange will start to re-arrange the affected processes internally having an impact on the source IP addresses for the Enhanced Order Book Interface (EOBI). During the stepwise rollout, market data disseminated via the EOBI interface will use the same source IP addresses/source networks as the data disseminated via EMDI. Once the consolidation of the processes for all partitions is complete, the existing EOBI source IP address and the source networks will be decommissioned.

2.  Required action

During the rollout phase individual processes and partitions will be consolidated in a stepwise approach. Trading Participants should be prepared for the fact that market data disseminated via the EOBI and EMDI interfaces will continue to have different source IP address and source networks as is currently the case.

However, for those partitions where the processes are consolidated, market data disseminated via the EOBI and EMDI interfaces will have the same source IP address and source networks.

3.  Details

Starting from 23 October 2023, the EOBI source IP address/source networks for the primary process on partition 4 will change, i.e. the EOBI market data will be sent via the same source IP address/source networks as EMDI market data. The following table details both the current and the future IP addresses/source networks.
