Eurex Circular 027/23 Futures Contracts on Interest Rate Swaps: Cancellation of admission to trading of all futures contracts on Interest Rate Swaps; Futures on debt securities of the Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland: Harmonization of price intervals for off-book trades

1.  Introduction

The Management Board of Eurex Deutschland took the following decisions with effect from 2 May 2023:

  • Cancellation of admission to trading of all Futures Contracts on Interest Rate Swaps at Eurex Deutschland, denominated in euro, with terms of 2, 5, 10 and 30 years (product IDs: FSWS, FSWM, FSWL, FSWX).
  • Change of methodology for the determination of contract price intervals for off-book trades in Federal Republic of Germany and Swiss Confederation Futures to match the remaining suite of Fixed Income Futures as per the updated subpart 3.1.2 of Attachment 1. 

Production start: 2 May 2023

This circular contains all information on the products with cancellation of admission to trading and the updated sections of the relevant Rules and Regulations of Eurex Deutschland.

There is no specific action required.

3.   Details of the initiative

A. Cancellation of futures contracts on Interest Rate Swaps

Trading in the products FSWS, FSWM, FSWL, and FSWX was already suspended with effect from 27 January 2023.

B. Harmonization of entry interval prices for off-book trades for Fixed Income Futures

The applied change will harmonize all Fixed Income futures so as they follow the same methodology as defined in the Contract Specifications, section 3.1.1.

As of the effective date, the full version of the updated Contract Specifications will be published on the Eurex website www.eurex.com under:

Rules & Regs > Eurex Rules & Regulations > 03. Contract Specifications
