“Innovate, integrate and mobilize” at the GFF Summit in Luxembourg
Deutsche Börse Group held its Global Funding and Financing Summit for the twenty third time at the end of January 2019 in Luxembourg under the slogan “Innovate, integrate and mobilize”.
Eurex Clearing and Eurex Repo were there, along with Clearstream and “new technology” experts from Deutsche Börse AG,so that the entire lifecycle of collateral management within securities financing was covered.

The secured funding and securities financing industry recognizes the GFF Summit as one of the major international events globally for this field. This year’s event proved this right once again.
Prior to the event, speakers and panelists gave a sneak preview of the topics of this year’s Summit: non-cleared margin requirements, high-quality liquid assets (HQLAs), regulation and the potential of new technologies for the securities financing industry.

Tilman Fechter, Head of Banking, Funding & Financing at Clearstream and host of the GFF Summit, underlined how primordial the Summit is for the securities financing industry. He asserted that it was crucial to maintain links between all market players to not lose track of each other and that it was the ambition of such conferences to be that link. He stressed that new technologies, the mobility and liquidity of assets as well as meeting capital and margin requirements were some of the key challenges of tomorrow’s funding and financing industry.
