Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: EU takes new approach on Capital Markets Union

The growth within the euro zone stays weak despite of the relaxed monetary policy. The European Commission views the underdevelopment and fragmentation of European capital markets as the reason for this situation strongly depending on bank credits. Three quarters of all new company credits are taken at banking institutions. But companies need more opportunities when choosing the right funding. The result will be more growth within the euro zone and a more robust European financial system.
