Coronavirus (COVID-19); trading from emergency locations

In the context of events that might occur in connection with the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Eurex would like to inform that Trading Participants, in case of an emergency situation, can participate in trading at Eurex Deutschland from outside their notified and approved trading locations (§ 33 in conjunction with § 55 (1) of the Exchange Rules of Eurex Deutschland).

Such an emergency exists in particular as soon as a Trading Participant is inhibited to ensure orderly trading conditions from its notified and approved trading locations, e. g.  prevention measures, extraordinary sickness rate or sovereign measures (e.g. quarantine, access limitations issued by authorities).

If a Trading Participant needs make use of the possibility to trade from outside his notified and approved trading location, he is obliged to provide the following information informally and without delay to the Management Board of Eurex Deutschland: 

  • description of the individual emergency of the Trading Participant 
  • concrete designation of the emergency location from which trading is conducted including detailed contact data (phone number and e-mail address)
  • expected duration of the measure

The Trading Participant must ensure that orderly exchange trading is at no time jeopardised by participation in exchange trading at Eurex Deutschland from outside its notified and approved trading location(s). Trading Participants must always comply with the applicable exchange regulations, in particular those of the Exchange Rules of Eurex Deutschland and the Conditions for Trading at Eurex Deutschland.

It is expressly pointed out that the Management Board is entitled to make additional orders in specific individual cases to ensure orderly exchange trading conditions (§ 15 paragraph 4 German Stock Exchange Act).

Eurex Deutschland has taken appropriate emergency measures to ensure orderly exchange trading conditions.

Concrete information for the respective incident will be published during the incident via newsboard message. 

We strongly recommend not to take any decisions based on the indications in the market status window but to always check the production news board for comprehensive information on an incident.
