Eurex Clearing Readiness Newsflash | C7: Decommissioning of Classic Average Pricing
With this newsflash, Eurex Clearing informs you about the decommissioning of Classic Average Pricing in the C7 system.
Following the successful introduction of Value Based Average Pricing (VBAP) in C7, Eurex Clearing will decommission the legacy Classic Average Pricing functionality by the end of 2026.
The VBAP provides already a comprehensive and enhanced solution that not only covers the full scope of functionality available under Classic Average Pricing but also offers a range of advanced capabilities beyond the legacy feature set. As a result, maintaining both functionalities in parallel is no longer required.
The switch-off of Classic Average Pricing is scheduled for 30 November 2026, marking 27 November 2026 as the last day when Classic Average Pricing can be used in Production. In Simulation, the functionality can be used for last time on 12 November 2026, before it is switched off effective 13 November 2026.
Schedule for the decommissioning of Classic Average Pricing
C7 Simulation:
12 November 2026 last day Classic Average Pricing is available
13 November 2026 Classic Average Pricing is switched off
C7 Production:
27 November 2026 last day Classic Average Pricing is available
30 November 2026 Classic Average Pricing is switched off
To support the orderly transition of existing business, demerge of merged transactions as well as give-ups on such transactions are supported for the transaction duration of merged transactions.
Required actions
Clearing Members are required to ensure that they have fully tested and operationally implemented the Value Based Average Pricing (VBAP) functionality ahead of the decommissioning date. Members should also verify their readiness to process and manage give-ups and take-ups on VBAP transactions.
