Supervisory Board of Eurex Clearing AG

The Supervisory Board of Eurex Clearing AG has twelve members. The members of the Supervisory Board are generally mandated for a term of five years. The most important function and duty of the Supervisory Board is to oversee the work of the Executive Board and to appoint its members as well as to approve important corporate decisions.

Jeffrey Tessler

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eurex Clearing AG

Jeffrey Tessler was appointed as member and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eurex Frankfurt AG in April 2016. At the same time, Mr Tessler also joined the Supervisory Board of Eurex Clearing AG. He has been Chairman of both boards since June 2018.

From 2004 to 2018, Jeffrey Tessler was a Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse AG. He was responsible for the Clearstream Division until 2015 and headed Clients, Products & Core Markets as of 2016. After having served as Chief Executive Officer of Clearstream Banking S.A. and Clearstream International S.A. since 2004, Mr Tessler became Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of Clearstream in 2015. Since April 2016 Mr Tessler is a member of the Supervisory Board of China Europe International Exchange AG (CEINEX) and became Vice Chairman in June 2018.

Jeffrey Tessler joined Deutsche Börse Group following a 25-year career with The Bank of New York Company, Inc., where he held a number of key management positions in the US and Europe. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of BNY Securities Group, the company's global agency brokerage, clearing and financial services outsourcing business. He served as General Manager of The Bank of New York in Europe from 1998 to 2003, a period in which the company achieved a leadership position in providing securities services to European clients. Tessler also served as Head of The Bank of New York's Securities Industry Banking Division from 1988 to 1998.

Jeffrey Tessler began his career in 1979 at the Irving Trust Company, which merged with The Bank of New York in 1988. His experience includes roles as money market trader and dealer in U.S. government bonds.

He holds a BA in Political Science and an MBA from Seton Hall University, New Jersey.


Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eurex Clearing AG

Gregor Pottmeyer is Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse AG since 2009. In this role, he oversees the Group’s financial accounting & controlling, tax, and risk management, as well as investor relations, treasury, and purchasing & facility management.

Prior to joining Deutsche Börse AG, he spent 22 years in finance roles of increasing responsibility at Daimler AG.

From 2002 to 2009, he served as a Board member at Mercedes-Benz Bank AG, a unit within Daimler’s financial services division. He was responsible for Finance and Risk Management, as well as for Finance/Controlling for the big European financial services companies and for Credit Operations for the financial services companies in Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific. In the years 1993 to 2002, Gregor Pottmeyer held several positions at Mercedes-Benz Finanz GmbH, first joining the company as a Senior Project Manager and becoming then Managing Director Controlling/ Accounting. Between 1987 and 1993, he held different positions at Daimler Benz AG and debis AG in the Controlling area.

Gregor Pottmeyer holds a graduate degree in Business Administration from Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany.

Christina E. Bannier is Professor of Banking and Finance at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and Head of the Sustainable Governance Lab. She is also a lecturer for the Goethe Business School and the Technical University of Munich. Previously, she held professorships at Gutenberg University Mainz, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and Leibniz University Hannover.


In addition to her academic activities, Prof. Dr. Christina E. Bannier is spokesperson of the Sustainability Advisory Board of Evangelische Bank and a member of the Board of the German Association for Financial Analysis and Asset Management (DVFA). Previously, she was a member of the Innovation Advisory Board at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (2011-2013) and the Economic Advisory Board of the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport and Regional Development (2012-2015). 


Prof. Dr. Christina E. Bannier is co-editor of ESGZ, the Journal of Business Economics, and the Global Finance Journal, and serves as a reviewer for various international academic journals and associations. Her work and research focuses on corporate governance, sustainable finance and compliance / AML.


Besides her mandate as member of the supervisory board of Eurex Clearing AG, Prof. Dr. Christina E. Bannier is also a member of the supervisory board of Clearstream Banking AG.

Tammo Diemer was educated at the University of Bonn, Germany and at the University of Warwick, UK. He holds a degree in mathematics and achieved a master of science. In 1999, he completed his PhD in mathematics at University of Bonn. Dr Diemer began his career as an asset liability manager at DePfa Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG in Wiesbaden. From 2001 to 2013, he held various positions at Aareal Bank AG, Wiesbaden, Germany, lastly becoming managing director and head of treasury. Since 16 January 2013, Dr Diemer is a Member of the Executive Board of the Federal Republic of Germany – Finance Agency. On 01 July 2015 he was additionally appointed to the FMS Wertmanagement Supervisory Board.

David Feldmann is Managing Director and Head of Markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Deutsche Bank, based in Frankfurt. He joined the firm in 2007 in Structured Rates Sales and has since 2012 held managerial positions in Pensions & Insurance as well as Rates Sales. Since 2017 he heads Institutional Sales in the region, taking responsibility for the broader Markets businesses, encompassing additionally Fixed Income & Currencies Trading and Structuring, in 2019. He is a member of the Fixed Income & Currencies Global Executive Committee and the Management Committee Germany.

David Feldmann holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, with additional studies at Universidad Adolfa Ibañez in Chile and Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada.

Wim den Hartog is Managing Director at STX Group, a Broker Dealer in Corporate Bonds and Environmental Commodities in the Netherlands. He started his career in 1990 at Kas Bank in Amsterdam and Kas Clearing in London. In 1997, he became Managing Director at MeesPierson ICS in London. From 2003 to 2012, he was working for Goldman Sachs in London. In this time, he built and was Managing Director of the Execution and Clearing Business (GSEC) and of the European Futures Business.

Recently, he was Co-Head of IMC Financial Markets in Chicago. Wim den Hartog studied Business Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Dr. Karin Labitzke holds a graduate degree in mathematics with a minor in economics, in 1986 she completed her PhD in engineering at the TU Clausthal, Germany. 

She started her professional career in 1986 as a trainee at Hypo-Bank AG in Munich, now UniCredit Bank AG, and held various managerial positions within the company before she became Head of CRO Central Functions at UniCredit Bank AG and held the position until her retirement in 2018. One of the main tasks was the management , including risk management, of the UCB AG cover pool. During this time, additionally, she was the responsible manager for different bank-wide projects such as Impairment process and IAS 39, Asset Quality Review 2014 and the statutory audits. She also served as member of the Supervisory Board of Direkt Anlage Bank AG (DAB) until 2015 and as a member of the Committee on Banking Supervision and Risk Management of the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp) as well as a member of the working groups in the Association of German Banks (BdB).

Currently, besides her mandate as member of the Supervisory Board of Eurex Clearing AG, Dr. Labitzke is a member of the Supervisory Boards of European Energy Exchange AG as well as European Commodity Clearing AG.

Tong Lee is Head of Fixed Income & Currencies and a member of Markets Executive Committee at UniCredit.  Tong joined UniCredit in 2009 where he was Head of Rates based in London and subsequently he relocated to Munich in 2014 to take on a double duty as Head of Markets Germany.  In 2017, he relocated to Milan to assume his current role.  Prior to UniCredit, Tong spent 5 years at Dresdner Kleinwort in London where he was Global Head of Structured Rates Derivatives and Commodities.  In that capacity, he was responsible for trading, structuring and quantitative development in structured rates derivatives and commodities, as well as hybrid products across asset classes.  Before Dresdner, Tong spent 12 years at General Re Financial Products in London and New York where he last served as Global Head of Trading across all asset classes.  He was also a member of Executive Committee and Risk Committee.  Prior to General Re, Tong was a senior interest rates options trader at BNP New York.  

Tong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Clifford Lewis is currently an independent director at Eris Exchange, a futures exchange in the US, and a member of the Technology Advisory Committee of the CFTC as well as an advisor to Long Ridge Capital, a venture capital fund focused on financial sector IT. He was most recently an EVP and Head of e-Exchange at State Street as well as CEO of Currenex (State Street acquired Currenex in 2007).

Mr. Lewis has more than 30 years of global finance experience in both the public and private sectors. Private sector jobs include being a consulting Partner at KPMG responsible for international capital markets assignments and senior executive at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). While at CBOT, he was responsible for e-trading including the successful transition of the bond complex from open outcry to automated trading. He was also responsible for the initial phases of the CBOT’s demutualization and worked extensively with Eurex during his time at CBOT.

His public service included senior positions at the World Bank Group with responsibilities for Latin America financial sector reforms as well as capital market development globally.  Among other achievements, Mr. Lewis was responsible for funding the development of new exchanges and clearinghouses including the BM&F in Brazil. During the Reagan and George H.W. Bush Administrations, he was a top official at USAID initially responsible for budget and policy planning and then heading the US Government's efforts to assist the newly free countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Lewis is a frequent speaker at FX and derivatives industry events and has won numerous industry awards. He has testified before Congress and has bylined numerous articles in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Atlantic Monthly, and National Interest. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College and former fellow of Harvard's Center for International Affairs.

Thilo Roßberg is a Managing Director and Head of FICC Markets at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, based in Stuttgart, and oversees the Government Bond, Rates, FX and Commodity trading. Thilo Roßberg joined LBBW in 2006 as a Rates Exotics Trader, before he took over the responsibility for the Rates Structuring activities. He was announced Head of Interest Rate Derivatives Trading in 2014 and Head of Corporates Sales in 2017 on an interim basis. Prior to his career in Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, he joined ABN AMRO Group as Quantitative Analyst in Amsterdam and London before taking a position on the Rates Exotics Trading team.

Thilo Roßberg studied Mathematics and Economics and holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Ulm.
