Eurex Clearing’s Securities CCP: Introduction announcement of CCP Release 17.0

1. Introduction

With this circular, Eurex Clearing announces the production launch of CCP Release 17.0 on 18 November 2019. All Clearing Members who clear Eurex Repo and Securities Lending transactions and respective Settlement Institutes are affected by the introduction of CCP Release 17.0.

With CCP Release 17.0 and in preparation for the transaction reporting under the Securities Financing Transaction Regulation (SFTR), Eurex Clearing will enhance CCP reports with information required to be compliant with SFTR reporting. 

Start of simulation: 26 September 2019
Start of production: 18 November 2019

2. Required action

Report changes to be introduced with this release might have an impact on report processing of Clearing Members for Eurex Repo and Securities Lending transactions and the relevant Settlement Institutes. In case of cooperation with back-office vendors, Clearing Members should contact their third-party providers as soon as possible to ensure that the necessary adjustments can be made.

3. Details of the initiative

Based on the technical standards with regards to the extension of trade registration to securities financing transactions, Eurex Clearing decided to enhance CCP reports for cleared Repos and Lending CCP Business by additional information on the Unique Transaction Identifier (UTI) and Clearing Timestamp, which can be used in the Member’s reporting towards the regulator. 

With the Release Notes and technical documentation, Eurex Clearing will provide a description of the functionality that will be introduced with CCP Release 17.0. 

All documentation will be published according to the attached “CCP Release 17.0 Member Communication Calendar” and will be available on the Eurex Clearing website www.eurexclearing.com under the following path at the appropriate time:

Unless the context requires otherwise, terms used and not otherwise defined in this circular shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the Clearing Conditions of Eurex Clearing AG.
