Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank, has delivered a very interesting lecture on the many challenges monetary policy faces at a Deutsche Bundesbank Conference in Frankfurt am Main. He explains that those challenges have not changed the mandate of the central banks, but they have altered the way in which they deliver it. The most fundamental question facing all major central banks today is for Mr. Draghi: can our price stability mandates still be delivered?
