Eurex Clearing
The European Union is set to follow the US and Japan in implementing clearing obligations for interest rate swaps. But the fine-tuning of the frontloading requirement – a rule unique to Europe that essentially requires certain trades conducted before the clearing obligation comes into effect to be subsequently cleared – remains a sticking point.
