The International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) has published a new classification letter that allows counterparties to bilaterally communicate their status for clearing and other regulatory requirements under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). The classification also determines whether and when the EMIR clearing obligation applies.
