In the course of the webinar the audience was asked several questions on the impact EMIR OTC regulation has on their business.
Some 60 percent of the CAT 2/CAT 3 firms consider themselves ready ahead of the upcoming mandatory clearing deadlines, while the negotiating of legal documentation, managing the mixed trade flow and the adjusting of margin operations are amongst the biggest hurdles faced by those firms.
We were keen to understand whether central clearing will impact trading models and investment strategies. Almost 90 percent of the audience believe that clearing will have either some or even strong influence their models, confirming that clearing decisions are driving decision on trading and execution strategies, and not the other way round.
When it comes to pricing of clearing services we wanted to know how much this was influencing clearing decisions. Whereas 37 percent replied that it has a strong influence, half the audience considers pricing only as one of many factors, when it comes to picking a clearing provider.
