Eurex Clearing Readiness Newsflash | Home Market Settlement: Optional enhancement of party level information

In the context of the Home Market Settlement (HMS) offering, Eurex Clearing will enhance the use of party levels in the settlement instructions message sent to the Home CSDs by an optional service.

From 16 March 2026, Clearing Members are enabled to specify the Clearing Member’s party BIC and optionally a related safekeeping account on the level of the receiving/delivering party (BUYR/SELL). This information will be included in the settlement instruction which Eurex Clearing sends on behalf of the Clearing Member with Power-of-Attorney to the respective Home CSD.

Enhancement

Scope of the enhancement

  • Supported products: This additional service is restricted to physical deliveries resulting from Eurex options and futures in European equities.
  • Supported Home CSDs: The enhancement applies to ESES CSDs (Euroclear France, Euroclear Nederland, Euroclear Belgium) and Euronext Securities Milan (ES-MIL). See Eurex Clearing Circular 011/24 for ESES markets and Eurex Clearing Circular 051/25 for the Italian market.

Benefit: Improved instruction recognition

This new feature provides a significant benefit by allowing Clearing Members to specify the party BIC and account identifier for their Settlement Institution directly within the settlement instruction. This ensures that the Settlement Institution can immediately recognize instructions sent by Eurex Clearing on behalf of the Clearing Member, enabling seamless processing with the correct BIC and account details. This improves efficiency and accuracy of settlement processing.

Convenient maintenance of new fields via C7 CAS

With the upcoming C7 CAS Release 2.297, the maintenance of the additional Home Market Settlement fields will be included in the C7 CAS change request workflow. Clients can maintain these new fields per [Home CSD] x [Settlement Account] conveniently through the established Settlement Accounts and Clearing Settings change request workflow in C7 CAS, ensuring accurate and complete settlement information.

Usage of this service enhancement is fully optional

  • If a Clearing Member chooses not to provide a dedicated party BIC for a specific Home CSD and settlement account combination, Eurex Clearing will continue to use the standard BIC assigned at their member level as the BUYR/SELL party information in the instruction.
  • If a Clearing Member chooses not to provide a dedicated account, the :97A::SAFE tag at the BUYR/SELL party level will simply be omitted from the instruction.
