Eurex Clearing Readiness Newsflash | Technology - AMQP: Decommissioning of unsupported ciphers
Dear Client,
With this Newsflash, Eurex Clearing announces the decommissioning of cipher suites used by AMQP brokers. Ciphers define the combination of encryption and authentication algorithms used to secure the connection to Eurex Clearing’s AMQP brokers.
The decommissioning of the respective ciphers on the FIXML interface was already implemented in 2022, as announced in Eurex Clearing Readiness Newsflashes from 23 May 2022 and from 20 September 2022.
With effect in simulation as of 14 August 2023 and in production as of 2 September 2023, the following ciphers will no longer be supported:
- SSL_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA
- TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA
- TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA
Following the decommissioning, only Forward Secrecy strong encryption (AEAD ciphers) will be supported in the respective interfaces.
In order to ensure that unsecured ciphers are not being used, clients need to use the latest versions of the Transport Layer Security (TLS) software. Please note that the Eurex Clearing FpML, Trading Entry API, and Margin Calculator API interfaces only support TLS 1.2 and above versions.
